CityMD appreciates and understands the importance of a healthy work-life balance; this translates into a sensible schedule, no overnights and the support of a "People First" company. New Jersey

Like every state, New Jersey has its own cuisine, religious communities, museums, and halls of fame.

New Jersey is the birthplace of modern inventions such as: FM radio, the motion picture camera, the lithium battery, the light bulb, transistors, and the electric train. Other New Jersey creations include: the drive-in movie, the cultivated blueberry, cranberry sauce, the postcard, the boardwalk, the zipper, the phonograph, saltwater taffy, the dirigible, the seedless watermelon, the first use of a submarine in warfare, and the ice cream cone.

Diners are common in New Jersey. The state is home to many diner manufacturers and has more diners than any other state: over 600. There are more diners in the state of New Jersey than any other place in the world. There are mineral museums in Franklin and Ogdensburg.

New Jersey is the only state without a state song. I'm From New Jersey is incorrectly listed on many websites as being the New Jersey state song, but it was not even a contender when in 1996 the New Jersey Arts Council submitted their suggestions to the New Jersey Legislature.

New Jersey is frequently the target of jokes in American culture, especially from New York City-based television shows, such as Saturday Night Live. Academic Michael Aaron Rocklandattributes this to New Yorkers' view that New Jersey is the beginning of Middle America. The New Jersey Turnpike, which runs between two major East Coast cities, New York City and Philadelphia, is also cited as a reason, as people who traverse through the state may only see its industrial zones. Reality television shows like Jersey Shore and The Real Housewives of New Jersey have reinforced stereotypical views of New Jersey culture, but Rockland cited The Sopranos and the music of Bruce Springsteen as exporting a more positive image.

The home of the United Nations Headquarters, New York is an important center for international diplomacy and has been described as the cultural capital of the world.

When people think of New York City, Manhattan is often the first place they picture. It’s no wonder: the borough is home to big-name attractions, such as Central Park, the Empire State Building, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the High Line and One World Observatory; world-class museums, restaurants and concert halls; and the bright lights of Times Square and Broadway. But there's more to the borough than the obvious sights. Manhattan contains charming neighborhoods and hidden green spaces, trendy boutiques and classic bars.

Central Park is an urban oasis. The 843-acre green space features rolling meadows, peaceful bodies of water and stunning vistas, bringing a sense of calm to the otherwise busy City. The range of activities you can take part in here is nearly unparalleled: hiking, biking, ice-skating, fishing, visiting the Central Park Zoo, seeing a formal English garden and, during the summer months, lounging on a picnic blanket and listening to a live concert.

No NYC neighborhood has greater historical resonance than Lower Manhattan. This is, after all, where the City began—a fact evident in the asymmetrical lanes that were footpaths and canals well before the skyscrapers came. Sights like Trinity Church, Federal Hall, Wall Street, One World Trade and the 9/11 Memorial & Museum are centuries apart in their creation, but all bring undeniable emotional impact. Lower Manhattan’s role in American finance looms large too, but that doesn’t mean it’s a stuffy nine-to-five district; a thriving restaurant and shopping scene, anchored by Brookfield Place, draws visitors in equal numbers to power brokers.

From the moment, you see the glow of the glittering signage, it’s clear that Times Square is as New York as it gets. Everything here is massive and high voltage: theme restaurants like the Hard Rock Cafe, clubs like B.B. King Blues Club & Grill and the spectacle of Broadway theater are just a few examples. Why do visitors love this place? Because it is undeniably awe-inspiring. Several large hotels are in the center of the action, so you'll able to find a room to suit your taste. When you want to go big, go here.

Leafy home to the City’s elite, the Upper East Side is a place for pastry, pearls and pocket squares. Refined culture and shopping are the name of the game up here. Case in point: Museum Mile, whose institutions include big names like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum alongside gems like Neue Galerie and the Frick Collection. The shopping options offer a chance to get a new wardrobe from luxury boutiques and high-end department stores.

Whatever your style, budget and lifestyle fashion needs, Manhattan not only has you covered but offers endless convenience. There’s no need to take your chances on clothes that look good online but fit poorly in real life when you have some of the world’s best, and biggest, department stores carrying thousands of brands. But, if shopping local and supporting small businesses is where your head’s at, there’s pockets of the city that are crowded with boutiques in the East Village, Lower East Side and Soho and the borough’s thrift stores, including the big names like Goodwill.

Chelsea is Manhattan’s art district. You can spend days here wandering galleries that show work from established and emerging artists. The High Line—a park built on an abandoned elevated railroad track—is a work of art in its own right, as are some of the area’s fashionable shops. After feasting your eyes, go restaurant hopping, or visit Chelsea Market, which offers excellent eateries. Then head out to the neighborhood’s famous nightclubs and buzzing bars or watch future Saturday Night Live stars perform at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.

Lake Grove, NY

Since the Incorporation of Lake Grove in 1968, much has changed. The opening of the Smith Haven Mall in March of 1969 had created a commercial boom, attracting new businesses, banks and professional services to the Village. Most of these are located along Middle Country Road. Lake Grove has become a commercial hub for a large part of Suffolk County. In spite of these changes, Lake Grove has retained its character of a small suburban village. As soon as one leaves the highly trafficked major roads one enters into quiet, tree lined streets with well-kept yards and homes. Children can still safely play in most streets. Several new parks have been developed throughout Lake Grove. Many Village residents have found employment in the nearby shopping centers, businesses and offices. Young people are able to work near their homes after school and during their vacations. We have some of the best shopping facilities right at our doorstep and ready access to public transportation. All these advantages make Lake Grove a most desirable place to live.

Suffolk County is one of the oldest settled areas of the United States, with a history dating to the early 17th century and beyond. If you’re looking for a chic and stylish way to spend your day, the Hamptons and Montauk are international resort communities on the East End. Wine-lovers will simply be awed by a visit to Long Island Wine Country, which is centered on the North Fork but nowadays stretches to western Suffolk County. If you are interested in maritime history, Suffolk County is home to seaports with active fisheries, maritime shops and noted seafood restaurants. State and county parks offer hours of fun for swimmers, hikers, golfers, wildlife enthusiasts, picnickers and others. Museums provide a window into the region’s glorious historic and artistic past. And you’ll find great places to shop, dine and just plain relax.

Spending a day at play in the sand, sun and surf is always at the top of the list for visitors to Suffolk County, which features many beautiful and highly accessible state and county beaches. The great beaches include those at Robert Moses State Park and Smith Point County Park on the South Shore, Hither Hills State Park and Cupsogue County Park on the South Fork, Sunken Meadow State Park and Wildwood State Park on the North Shore, and Orient Beach State Park on the North Fork. Beyond opportunities to swim in lifeguard protected areas, Suffolk County beaches feature many desirable amenities. These amenities include scenic boardwalks, golf courses, recreational facilities, beach trails, restaurants, concession areas, camping facilities, horseback riding stables, kayaking and canoeing, equipment rentals and picnic/barbecue areas. And Suffolk County beaches are an ideal place to watch and take photos of beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

Suffolk County’s public parks and preserves offer visitors an inexpensive but valuable resource for a wide variety of outdoor activities, from sunbathing to sport fishing, and relaxing quiet spaces for picnicking during the warmer months and a host of other activities, including golf and hiking. Queens, New York

With adventurous art, international cuisine, gorgeous parks and world-class sporting events, Queens features attractions to satisfy nearly every taste. Sports lovers can watch the New York Mets play baseball at Citi Field and, in a venue nearly adjacent, see the US Open host the world’s best tennis players. But in Queens, every day can be an event, whether you’re sampling the delectable Greek cuisine of Astoria or authentic Chinese food in Flushing. View inventive art at MoMA PS1 and Socrates Sculpture Park in Long Island City, and take in the stunning flora at the Queens Botanical Garden.

Astoria has long been known as a Greek neighborhood, and it’s unquestionably a great place to get dishes with calamari, feta, and other Mediterranean staples. But there are communities, and culinary options, from the rest of the world, notably the Middle East, India, and Brazil. Astoria’s proximity to Manhattan—it’s 20 minutes from Times Square by subway—has made it popular with young, artsy New Yorkers, who’ve opened galleries alongside longtime cultural favorites like the Museum of the Moving Image and historic Kaufman Astoria Studios, where several current TV series make their home.

Forest Hills’ gently rolling rows of Tudor houses and tulip trees are secluded and relaxed. The area sometimes feels like a throwback, with old-school pizza parlors, sweets shops, knisheries and a train station that looks unchanged from when Teddy Roosevelt spoke there 100 years ago. Famous for Forest Hills Stadium, the venue the Beatles played in 1964 (reborn as a concert stage in 2013), the neighborhood is partially bordered by Forest Park, which holds a popular golf course, and is renowned as the birthplace of the Ramones and Simon & Garfunkel and as the childhood home of Peter Parker (aka Spider-Man).

Established in the early 20th century by Irish settlers, the planned community of Sunnyside Gardens now sits as a treasured historic district in Sunnyside. The neighborhood retains a heavy Irish influence—especially when it comes to cuisine—and a verdant vibe with courtyards and tree-lined streets. It also boasts residents from around the world—including Romania, Korea, Greece and South America—making a trip to the neighborhood’s shops, restaurants, and pubs an intriguing wander.

Queens hosts various museums and cultural institutions that serve its diverse communities. They range from the historical to the scientific, from conventional art galleries to unique graffiti exhibits. Queens's cultural institutions include, but are not limited to: 5 Pointz, Afrikan Poetry Theatre, Bowne House, Flushing Town Hall, King Manor, Kupferberg Center for the Arts, Noguchi Museum, New York Hall of Science, P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, Queens Botanical Garden, Queens Museum of Art, SculptureCenter, Thalia Spanish Theater, and the Ganesh Temple, Flushing, Queens.

Staten Island, NY

Visitors shouldn’t miss the opportunity to explore Staten Island, renowned for its museums, historic landmarks, beaches, and parkland—including the City’s largest forest preserve in the Staten Island Greenbelt. Right outside the Ferry Terminal, is Staten Island's Downtown. With its bustling atmosphere, vibrant community, and cultural attractions, the community of St. George is a great place for you to explore. Instead of returning directly to Manhattan, take the time to eat at one of St. Georges many great restaurants, explore its museums, or watch a ball game! Staten Island's restaurants feature cuisines from all around the world. From German beer gardens to "Little Sri Lanka", there are dining options for all tastes! And of course, no visit to Staten Island would be complete without a slice of our famous pizza!

Nestled into the northeast corner of Staten Island, close to the terminal for the Staten Island Ferry, Little Sri Lanka is a small neighborhood with an outsize culinary reputation. Go there to sample a few of the restaurants and markets serving authentic dishes—like roti, sambols, and baked goods—representative of the island nation’s cuisine.

Staten Island is the perfect place to get back to nature, just outside the "concrete jungle"! There are miles of hiking trails, three public golf courses, six kayak launch points, and thousands of acres of parks for you to explore. With over 170 parks, it's no wonder that Staten Island is called "The Greenest Borough". There are more than 12,300 acres of protected parkland - that's more than one-third of the Island's total land mass! For sheer variety, our parks cannot be beat. There is ice skating at Clove Lakes, and swimming at South Beach. Go horseback riding at Clay Pit Ponds State Park or bird watching at Mount Loretto Nature Preserve. Traditional parks with playgrounds and ball fields are complemented by vast forests and passive parkland. Just minutes from Manhattan, Staten Island's rustic retreats have something for everyone!

Since the 19th Century, Staten Island's Eastern Shore has been a haven for tourists and beach bathers. The pride of the shoreline is the South Beach Boardwalk, which stretches almost two miles! Called "The Riviera of New York City," the recently restored Boardwalk area boasts new playing fields, fun fountains, and a clean, lifeguard manned beach, making it a popular destination for the whole family. The 835-foot Ocean Breeze Fishing Pier is one of the longest in New York City. Comfort stations, a shady gazebo, snack bars and a restaurant also dot this beautiful expanse which boasts fantastic vistas. During the summer, South Beach comes to life with concerts, Back to the Beach festivals, and other great events.

Bronx, New York

People all around the world know the Bronx as the home of the New York Yankees, the Bronx Zoo, and the New York Botanical Garden—not to mention as the birthplace of hip-hop. Look deeper and you’ll discover the quaint maritime village of City Island, the cultural attractions of Fordham and Belmont, aka the “real Little Italy,” centered on the restaurants and cafés of Arthur Avenue. Grand Concourse, in the South Bronx, is full of art deco marvels.

The Bronx Zoo of the Wildlife Conservation Society is the premier place to study and appreciate the world's many creatures. Home to more than 6,000 animals, the zoo spans 265 acres that re-create the diverse natural habitats of its numerous residents. The New York Botanical Garden, neighbor to the Bronx Zoo, is a wonderland for everything that grows. Featuring more than a million plants on 250 acres, the Botanical Garden is a place for study and research as well as enchantment and exploration. Take a seasonal walk to see what’s in bloom or visit the Home Gardening Center for tips to take home to your own patch of earth.

Some visitors—and even native New Yorkers—are under the impression that an optimal stay in the South Bronx involves stepping off the subway, going to a Yankees baseball game and heading right back to the train. That impression is decidedly false. The area around the stadium is packed with cultural attractions and homey restaurants, all within walking distance of the train and one another. The South Bronx also has a community feel.

The Grand Concourse abounds with works of art, not the least of which is the thoroughfare itself. The most obvious stop on a South Bronx art tour is the Bronx Museum of the Arts. The longstanding institution took residence in a new building in 2006, and its collection reflects the multicultural character of its home borough. Hostos Community College's Hostos Center for the Arts and Culture, meanwhile, is home to the Longwood Art Gallery. Hush Hip Hop Tours also focus on the South Bronx, the music genre's birthplace.

In addition to the Yankees themselves, Yankee Stadium is now home to New York City FC, the area's newest professional soccer team, which has drawn strong attendance and considerable media attention in the early going. Monument Park and the Yankees' on-site museum are other attractions to check out while you're at the stadium. Heritage Field, the park next door, gives local kids a chance to take their cuts on the same grounds as Yankee greats like Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig.

Arthur Avenue, the heart of the Bronx’s Little Italy (aka Belmont), is a compact slice of the old country. Lined with welcoming shops, bakeries, and restaurants—many of which fly the Italian flag—the blocks thrum with activity, much of it food related. Folks of every age and background amble in and out of family-run markets, linger over cappuccinos in time-honored cafés and tuck into bowls of bucatini on outdoor patios. A daylong culinary tour—watching the locals make fresh pasta, sampling ricotta and slurping an oyster street-side—is a transporting experience. The commercial strip is the heart of the Belmont neighborhood; most of the action takes place there or on the avenue's side streets, prompting travelers from near and far to shop, dine and otherwise immerse themselves in the colorful experience.

Westchester County is graced with natural beauty. This backdrop is ideal for the active person looking for a place to hike, bike and explore. Explore treasures like Teatown Lake Reservation and Thompson's Cider Mill and be sure to check out Westchester's online Outdoor Adventure Brochure and keep a copy of the Apple Orchards and Farm guide handy. Westchester County is easy to get to and a great place to spend the day. Westchester is a paddler's paradise and boater's bliss, bordered by the Hudson River and Long Island Sound and bisected by large, scenic lakes. George's Island and Croton Point parks are just two of many places providing access to the Hudson, but some people prefer the ambiance of the pristine, 900-acre, three-mile-long Cross River Reservoir.

Along Long Island Sound, rent an umbrella and beach chair at Playland's beach or cool off in the pool. The city of New Rochelle is home to the county's second busiest park, Glen Island Park, which boasts a beautiful crescent-shaped beach. What's a little winter when it brings with it crisp starry nights, invigorating cross-country ski trails, hiking, snowshoeing, ice sailing or just relaxing by a warm fire with a cup of hot chocolate and a good book? See a hockey game, practice your own skating at a public ice rink or use those chilly months to visit the Hudson River Museum, attend a golf expo and take in a musical at the Westchester Broadway Theatre.

Westchester's calendar is packed with plenty of enticing events. The Lyndhurst Crafts Fair, Yonkers Riverfest, Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze and Frosty the Snowman Parade are just a few of the offerings throughout the year. And of course, nobody should miss Clearwater's Great Hudson River Revival, an annual summer treat inspired by the environmental efforts of folk legend Pete Seeger. Nanuet - Palisades Urgent Care

CityMD appreciates and understands the importance of a healthy work-life balance; this translates into a sensible schedule, no overnights and the support of a "People First" company. Our physicians work hard to guarantee a patient-centric experience, while CityMD works hard ensuring our "People First" philosophy holds true.

Our Urgent Care centers are aesthetically designed with an eye for light, space, and comfort. Our physicians are supported by a trained and dedicated staff including scribes, patient flow managers, medical assistants, patient care representatives and X-Ray technicians. In addition, each office has an office manager to help facilitate more complex requests. These team members are an integral part of our care model, allowing our physicians to focus on direct patient care.

Aftercare is a program unique to CityMD that follows up on all aspects of the care initiated in our offices. Our Aftercare team ensures all lab results, imaging studies and consultation request are followed and addressed on a daily basis, allowing our physician providers to focus on care delivery.
