El Monte, CA

Located approximately 12 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, El Monte is the hub of the San Gabriel Valley, where two major freeways – Interstates 605 and 10 – intersect and is the ninth largest city (out of 88) in Los Angeles County with a population of approximately 120,000.  The land uses within its 10 square mile area are 58 percent residential, 11 percent retail, 10 percent industrial, 7 percent office/retail, and 14 percent other of amenities.  El Monte also has an ethnically diverse and dynamic population with 72 percent Hispanic, 18 percent Asian, and 7 percent White.

As the San Gabriel Valley continues to grow so does the City of El Monte through new businesses and quality housing.  Many public improvements are underway to provide an attractive and safe environment for its economic growth.  El Monte has maintained a reputation for a "business friendly attitude" by attracting commercial and retail businesses as well as international corporations through its Foreign Trade Zone.  Other business tools include business financing through Grow El Monte, a pro-active Chamber of Commerce, and a Recycling Market Development Zone.  Several trade and professional colleges are also located in the city, providing workforce education to support local businesses.

El Monte is also home to Longo Toyota, the number one auto dealer in the United States by sales and volume.  Other major retail businesses include Home Depot, Sam's Club, and Sears Essentials.  Major industries include the Von's Distribution Warehouse, Wells Fargo Operations Center, and regional offices for East West and Cathay Banks.

With the growing population in El Monte, community and educational facilities continue to improve.  New parks are being built to serve the growing population with many active sports programs.  A brand new Aquatic Center with three pools is located along the Tyler Avenue Heritage District, which includes the City's Community and Senior Centers, museums, and a public library.

El Monte also encourages quality housing developments through well thought-out architectural designs, use of high-quality materials, and enhanced landscaping.  Promoting affordable homeownership in the city is vital in maintaining our quality of life.  The City and the Redevelopment Agency offer Homebuyer Assistance Programs for eligible households.

In addition, the appearance of our neighborhoods has greatly improved, partly due to various programs offered by the City, and partly due to the growing pride and awareness of our residents that El Monte is a great place to live, work, and play.

Los Angeles, CA

Welcome to the bright lights and big-city allure of California’s largest metropolis. Here, A-list celebrities really do walk the sidewalks, triple-shot macchiatos in one hand, cell phones in the other. While travelers may bypass much of the city by staying on a network of freeways that crisscross the region, they’re missing L.A.’s hidden gems. Turn off onto side streets to discover inviting neighborhoods, incredible museums, and shopping hot spots. And when the sun sets, L.A. comes to life in a whole new way, with clubs thumping to the beat of the latest indie band, a flock of starlets swaying in the front row. Rooftop restaurants, bars, and pools draw slinky-sexy crowds, while searchlights arc through the night sky, announcing the latest silver-screen premier.

Hip and historic, Downtown Los Angeles (or simply DTLA) offers big-city excitement with restaurants, cultural attractions, and major league sports. An influx of new residents has helped energize the area, and downtown’s re-emergence has also been spurred by such attractions as Grand Park, an urban oasis with views stretching from the Music Center (including Walt Disney Concert Hall) to City Hall.

Start your exploration with a full stomach. The reinvented Grand Central Market, originally opened in 1917, now has artisanal food purveyors selling of-the-moment items (Belcampo grass-fed beef burgers, build-your-own ice cream sandwiches at McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams) next to longtime vendors, like Wexler’s Deli. Vintage buildings have also been transformed, including the ornate 1927 United Artists building on Broadway, where the Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles offers stylish digs and a restaurant. Crowds flock to the sports and entertainment combo of Staples Center and LA LIVE, where you can also see music artifacts (Elvis’s sheet music, Michael’s glove) at the Grammy Museum and catch concerts at the Nokia Theatre. And Grand Avenue is the city’s cultural hub, thanks to Los Angeles Philharmonic performances at spectacular Walt Disney Concert Hall and the sandstone-clad Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA).

Norco, CA

The City of Norco is best known as an animal-keeping, equestrian-oriented community whose residents enjoy over 400 acres of parkland and one of the largest networks of horse trails in the nation, earning the nickname “Horsetown USA.” Our love for animals has created a close-knit community whose residents are active in local schools, churches, and civic groups, but Horsetown USA is also a great place to conduct business. The City of Norco encompasses about 14.5 square miles strategically located on the I-15 Freeway, just 50 miles from downtown L.A. The small town values that are alive and well in Horsetown USA not only enhance its residents’ quality of life but provide a nurturing environment for businesses as well.

High technology thrives in Horsetown USA. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Corona Division is responsible for assessing the reliability of naval weapons systems and the combat readiness of the Fleet. Norco College, a campus of Riverside Community College with more than 10,000 students, is known for its pioneering Center for Applied Competitive Technologies, one of the first centers of its kind in California. Designated as the District’s technology campus, Norco College is a tremendous resource for local businesses of all kinds. City officials work in concert with business leaders to ensure a vibrant business environment and sustained economic growth, enhancing a unique community rich in cultural, recreational and commercial resources.

The City’s animal-keeping lifestyle is Norco’s greatest resource and part of a $100 billion horse industry in America. The 44-acre George Ingalls Equestrian Event Center, Silverlakes Equestrian & Sports Park, and distinctive Western façades along Sixth Street all reinforce the spirit of Horsetown USA. Nowhere else will you see horse trails traversing from residential neighborhoods to business districts equipped with horse crossings and hitching posts. Horsetown USA’s unique Western lifestyle and dynamic equestrian community also contribute to a burgeoning hospitality industry. Fueled by the anticipated opening of Silverlakes, a 122-acre mega-venue for regional, national and international equestrian and soccer events, hotel developers and restaurateurs are evaluating sites in the City, and several projects are in the planning or construction phase.

Upland, CA

Upland is known as the City of Gracious Living, but we are also a city whose businesses support a strong sense of community. Located at the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains and one time pride of the citrus industry, Upland enjoys a rich history. The Los Angeles suburb is part of the Inland Empire, a metropolitan area situated directly east of the Los Angeles metropolitan area.

Inland Empire is a metropolitan area and region in Southern California. A generally broader definition will include eastern Los Angeles County cities in the Pomona Valley, and/or the desert community of Palm Springs as well as its surrounding area; a much larger definition will include all of San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

The Inland Empire is an area approximately 60 miles from north to south and some 50 miles wide. It spans Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. The area is surrounded by mountain ranges and hills on all sides, with only a few natural passes to Los Angeles and Orange County to the West. San Diego County lies to the South and Palm Springs to the East.

The natural beauty of the mountain rim on 320 degrees of the horizon is punctuated by a vertical elevation of over 10,000 feet in at least four places. The Inland Empire is perhaps the only place in the United States where you are 45 minutes from ski slopes and 45 minutes from the beach; during some times of the year, the weather allows both skiing and ocean swimming on the same day! The Inland Empire offers many outdoor sports such as snowboarding, motorcycling, biking, racing, and four-wheeling. The eastern pass to the low desert climbs to 1600 feet, with 10,000 ft.-plus peaks on both sides of Interstate 10. Most notable are Mt. San Jacinto Peak to the south and San Gorgonio and San Bernardino peaks to the north. The elevation range makes the topography very interesting and creates climatic ranges from near desert to alpine, with oak trees and conifer forests just a few minutes’ drive up on the famous Rim of the World Highway. The San Bernardino, Los Angeles, and San Jacinto mountain ranges catch the precipitation that is missed in the lower valleys, which has created canyons with steep walls and wide level valleys.

People have been attracted to the natural wonders of the area for two hundred years and continue to enjoy the natural amenities today in every conceivable way. With a rich history, natural wealth, and a robust economy, the Inland Empire is an area full of surprises.  Major cities include San Bernardino, Riverside, and Ontario, served by the Ontario International Airport. Smaller but substantial cities include Rancho Cucamonga, Montclair, Pomona, Redlands, Corona, and others.
