Smith County Memorial Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital with an attached Rural Health Clinic. We moved into a brand new replacement facility in August 2018 after serving for more than 70 years in our previous facility. Located in north central Kansas, SCMH serves as the preeminent healthcare provider to residents within a 60 mile radius. Our scope of service encompasses prenatal, obstetrical, pediatric, and adult care. Four Board Certified Family Practice physicians, along with APRNs, comprise our outstanding medical staff. We strongly believe that the rich history of excellent, community-minded providers in Smith Center contributes to the strong support we receive from the community.

North Central Kansas offers activities for everyone. Several area lakes and wildlife preserves offer boating, fishing and hunting and hiking options. Those looking for a history lesson may visit Fort Riley, the Brown v Board of Education Museum or the Dwight D. Eisenhower presidential library. Families will find several opportunities to be entertained at the Stiefel Theatre for Performing Arts or sporting events at Kansas State University.
