Rural Health Services Consortium, Inc. is founded on the belief that everyone should have access to affordable, quality health care. Through a system of primary care facilities, networked with specialty and inpatient care providers, we aspire to provide for complete and comprehensive care to our patients.The mission of the Consortium is to provide all who seek medical treatment in the Northeast Tennessee area. The centers are located in small, rural communities which provide services and counseling to a wide spectrum of patients.
Rural Health Services Consortium, Inc. is a private, non-profit corporation established in June 1985 with administration and the first medical center being established in Hawkins County. Currently, we serve the eight rural counties of Carter, Greene, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington in Northeast Tennessee. Over the past twenty-five years has increased to more than 250 employees serving our eleven centers in the eight counties. Our medical staff includes two Chief Medical Officers, 16 M.D.’s, one pediatrician, two dentists, 15 FNP’s, five P.A.’s and one LCSW.
Through our scope of services we presently offer primary health care services, x-ray facilities, pharmacy, laboratory diagnostics, behavioral health services, school-based clinical services and a youth strength and fitness program. The centers are located in small rural communities which provide services and counseling to a wide spectrum of patients. The Consortium has grown to its current level of seeing in excess of 130,000 patients per year.
As the organization expanded and became utilized by an ever increasing population, the demand for new state-of- the art facilities became necessary. Today, all of our centers are located in easily accessible locations in close proximity to specialists, hospitals, and emergency services. The administration department is located in our largest facility located at 4966 Hwy. 11W in Rogersville, Tennessee.
Sneedville, Tennessee is located in Hancock County which is nestled in Central Appalachia and provides residents and visitors with a beautiful rural atmosphere year-round. Whether blooming with the promise of spring or set ablaze with the colors of fall, the mountains and ridges that make up our county are a sight to behold and are full of natural wonders to be discovered.
