Additional Recreation Information

The City of Lumberton is located on the Lumber River in southeastern North Carolina. Chief among Lumberton’s many assets are its convenient location, natural beauty and quality of life as well as its mild climate.  Lumberton has a strategic central East Coast location and is halfway between New York and Florida on I-95, and the developing I-74 corridor offers an east-west passage.  To enjoy an occasional change of scenery, you do not have far to travel to enjoy the mountains of western North Carolina or the well-known Atlantic beaches.

Lumberton is family focused with a number of great annual events such as the Chevy to the Levee, Rumba on the Lumber, Mid-Atlantic Fly-In, and Sports Aviation Convention, and Alive After Five.  In December, we have an annual Christmas Tree Lighting in downtown as well as a Christmas Flotilla on the Lumber River.
