Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center, one of four Providence hospitals in the Portland Metro area, is a 143-bed acute care hospital with a long, strong commitment to community health. In 2006, we completed a $26 million expansion wing to house our new, fully digital, state-of-the-art Emergency and Diagnostic Imaging departments, offering some of the most advanced medical technology in Oregon. Our 20,000-square-foot Community Health Education Center hosts free or low-cost health education classes and events.
Portland has a metro population over two million, but maintains strong local neighborhoods and a close connection to nature. Consequently, the city consistently ranks high in national "livability" contests. The New York Times describes Portland as a "bastion of good living" and "one of our national capitals of cool." With easy access to mountains and beaches, coupled with a nationally recognized food culture, Portland is a large little city with an outsized and unique cultural footprint.
