San Diego, CA

California's second largest city, San Diego boasts a citywide population of nearly 1.3 million residents and more than 3 million residents countywide. Within its borders of 4,200 sq. miles, San Diego County encompasses 18 incorporated cities and numerous other charming neighborhoods and communities. Known as the Smithsonian of the West, Balboa Park hosts an incredible concentration of arts and culture offerings including 15 museums and performing arts venues. San Diego is also home to two Tony® Award-winning theaters, historic sites, public art, music venues, dance performances, film festivals, galleries, missions and much more to explore.

San Diego is renowned for its idyllic climate and 70 miles of pristine beaches. We have beaches perfect for families, off-leash dogs, bonfires, bike rides, and surfing. Ocean Beach is a favorite among locals to spend the day surfing, sunbathing, and exploring the many shops, taco stands, and antique malls. Mission Beach is our take on the classic boardwalk, with nearly two miles of oceanfront boardwalk, numerous rental shops and Belmont Park, an amusement park, the Wave House, miniature golf, bumper cars, and even rock climbing, several bars and clubs are also nearby. The beaches of Leucadia are all located below steep vertical cliffs and be difficult to find, making the beach more secluded and a popular choice among the locals.

Called one of "America's best cities for foodies," by Travel & Leisure Magazine, San Diego’s food scene is a burgeoning, vibrant mix of locally inspired flavors, from delightfully simple to sophisticatedly artful. Proximity to the ocean and Mexico are big influences on both the city’s cuisine and culture. From fish tacos to groundbreaking Cali-Baja fine dining, San Diego sits at the intersection of two culinary styles: California cuisine, distinguished for its devotion to fresh local ingredients and farm-to-table roots, and Mexico's Baja Med cuisine, a food revolution that combines traditional Mexican ingredients with those of the Mediterranean. San Diego is also a hotbed for foodies enjoying the diverse and creative tastes of the cooking world’s most innovative and well-known culinary artists. Complementing the growing food scene is San Diego’s prized craft beer contingent, numbering over 130 breweries and a collection of distilleries throughout the county. You’ll find pioneering brewers like Ballast Point, Stone Brewing Co. and the one who put San Diego on the craft beer map, Karl Strauss Brewing. A trip to a brewery, or a beer tour, is a must for any beer connoisseur, but plentiful local beer selections are on tap at restaurants and bars around town, offering a pleasant surprise for all to partake. Wine drinkers have cause to rejoice too, with more than 100 dynamic wineries located in all corners of the County and ample opportunities to enjoy locally bottled wines at restaurants, wine bars and tasting rooms.

An ideal climate, 70 miles of coastline and diverse topography draw outdoor enthusiasts to San Diego year-round. Whether you're looking for a heart-pounding mountain biking excursion, an active surf lesson or even an exhilarating high-flying glide above the cliffs, there's always something exciting and thrilling to watch, do and discover in San Diego. If water-sports are on your vacation agenda, you'll find plenty of options including sport fishing, sailing, jet-skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, scuba diving, and surfing, to name a few. On land, enjoy gorgeous hikes in the back country and along the coast, rock climbing, golfing at over 90 courses, mountain biking, running along urban and rural routes and horseback riding. For spectator sports fans, there is plenty of cheering to do as San Diego's professional sports teams battle it out each season. Get your Major-League Baseball fix with the San Diego Padres at Petco Park, where ballpark food takes on a whole new meaning with some of San Diego's favorite eateries and local craft beer on tap. Beyond the MLB, there are plenty of other spectator sports to enjoy, including international soccer tournaments, indoor soccer, ice hockey, rugby games, surfing, action sports competitions, marathons and much more.

San Diego County also features luxury spas, gaming, a dynamic downtown district, annual special events and unique holiday offerings, multicultural festivals and celebrations, colorful neighborhoods and communities, a rich military history and much more.
