Since 1981, Morris Heights Health Center (MHHC) has had a record of distinction as the major provider of health care to Morris Heights and the surrounding areas. Born out of the local need for quality care, MHHC is a non-profit organization funded by federal, state, and foundation grants as well as private and corporate donors.

For over a quarter of a century, we've provided quality primary health care services to all members of the community, including the medically, socially, and economically disadvantaged. Our services range from medical and dental services to counseling.

MHHC now serves more than 50,000 patients annually and provides a wide range of primary care, specialty, dental, mental health, educational, and social services at eight convenient locations. In addition, Morris Heights Health Center maintains school-based health facilities in twenty New York City Public Schools that provide health care for the students.

The Bronx is the northernmost of the five boroughs of New York City. Located north of Manhattan and Queens, and south of Westchester County, the Bronx is the only borough that is located primarily on the mainland.

People all around the world know the Bronx as the home of the New York Yankees, the Bronx Zoo, and the New York Botanical Garden—not to mention as the birthplace of hip-hop. Look deeper and you’ll discover the quaint maritime village of City Island, the cultural attractions of Fordham and Belmont, aka the “real Little Italy,” centered on the restaurants and cafés of Arthur Avenue. Grand Concourse, in the South Bronx, is full of art deco marvels.

Education in the Bronx is provided by a large number of public and private institutions, many of which draw students who live beyond the Bronx. The New York City Department of Education manages public non-charter schools in the borough.
