Community Action Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center and Community Action Agency located in Scottsbluff/Gering, Nebraska. Our service area includes 19 rural counties in western Nebraska bordering Colorado, South Dakota and Wyoming. We offer comprehensive primary and preventive services for all ages, including medical, dental, behavioral, reproductive health, as well as HIV/AIDS care, immunizations, and diabetic care. In addition, we provide many services through our Community Support Services and Social Support Services that help meet the social determinants of health for clinic patients. Our Community Health Services and Social Health Services include WIC, utility/rent emergency assistance, Migrant and Seasonal Head Start, Teen Outreach Program, and our Youth Shelter for homeless or runaway youth. In 2016, we provided services to over 8,000 patients and clients. Our patients are predominantly low income, with more than 81% having incomes below 200% FPG.
Located on The Oregon Trail, Scottsbluff/Gering is the gateway community to the Scotts Bluff National Monument. We are proud to be the economic hub of Western Nebraska. Our neighborhoods are safe, the air is clean and there are no traffic jams- life is good here.
The Gering Civic Center is a premier multi-function use, conference, and meeting facility.
Recreational activities include an outdoor amphitheater, 18-hole golf course, swimming pool, spacious parks and walking and hiking paths. The Gering Public School system provides quality education for our children.
