Additional Information: Portland, Oregon - Providence Portland Medical Center's Department of Medical Education is seeking an exceptional clinician-educator in Internal Medicine. Our department is a unique, collaborative group of clinician educators focused on training the next generation of physicians. Our 30-resident program emphasizes mentorship, role modeling and rigorous clinical experiences that balance clinical exposure in a variety of settings, including outpatient general medicine, inpatient medicine and internal medicine subspecialties with an understanding of the health care system, evidence-based medicine and quality improvement. We host medical students on our core rotations each month, including students from Oregon Health & Science University. This position comes with exceptional protected time for teaching and scholarly activity. * Work closely with Medical Education Department leadership and the Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency to provide vision, leadership, organizational skills and teaching supervision for the internal medicine residents and medical students. * Spend approximately 60 percent of your time in direct patient care and clinical supervision, and 40 percent in academic responsibilities, including teaching, evaluation, scholarship and administrative duties. * Provide primarily outpatient work, including direct patient care and precepting residents at the Providence Medical Group-Northeast clinic. Optional inpatient ward attending may also be included for interested candidates. * Have the opportunity to engage regularly in scholarly activity, including quality improvement research as well as local, regional and national presentations.
